Medium: Oil, Acrylic, Pastel, Ink, and Guache on Canvas
This work explores the intersection of abstract expression and representational imagery. Beginning with spontaneous, graffiti-like marks in a vivid neon palette, the canvas was then layered with more structured elements: oil-rendered clouds and corn stalks reaching to the sky, inspired by a rural Pennsylvania commute. A moment of visual association—corn echoing popcorn—shifted the tone from external landscape to internal warmth. What began as a study in contrast and layering became a reflection on routine, motherhood, and how memory lives in the smallest visual cues.
