I often joke that my art doesn't quite fit the local taste—one that's deeply rooted in the legacy of Andrew Wyeth. After reflecting on this, and many conversations later, I decided to engage with his work directly. This piece is part of that exploration—a bridge between my world and his. I layered a reproduction of Wyeth’s iconic tree from Pennsylvania Landscape, 1941, over one of my own abstract backgrounds, originally created with its mother "Learning to Love." Using earth tones—unusual for me—I aimed to stay true to my style while creating something more “accessible” to those with a more traditional lens. It’s both homage and experiment, honoring a regional icon while asserting my own visual voice.
