Part of my ongoing Love Paintings series, this piece incorporates the word hate—subtly inverted and embedded in the background—to represent the rising tide of intolerance and division in today’s world. The poppies serve as a direct reference to remembrance, drawn from the iconic World War I poem "In Flanders Fields" by John McCrae. Traditionally a symbol of honor for fallen soldiers, here they also serve as a warning: that the hard-won progress of past generations is at risk of being undone. This work is both a tribute and a call to remember the struggles and sacrifices made in the name of peace, equality, and love.
