This painting marks both my first venture into oil painting and into this particular style. Created in response to the 2022 war in Ukraine, the sepia background recalls the red clay of the earth, speaking to our shared roots. Across this surface, the layered word “peace” forms a textured turbulence, from which a pair of sunflowers emerge — a quiet hope for harmony between nations.
